REV. LOU SHELDON

Rev. Louis P. Sheldon is the Chairman of the Traditional Values Coalition, a lobby organization representing churches and the grassroots that works to preserve the Judeo-Christian ethics upon which America was founded.

He is also the author of The Agenda: The Homosexual Plan to Change America, published by FrontLine, a book division of Strang Communications.

The Traditional Values Coalition, founded in 1980 by Rev. Sheldon, speaks on behalf of more than 43,000 churches across the United States regarding pro-family legislation and policy.  With an emphasis on the restoration of the values necessary to maintain strong, unified families, TVC focuses on such issues as religious liberty, marriage, the right to life, the homosexual agenda, pornography, family tax relief and education.  He is a familiar face and voice for the family before the U.S. Congress and the White House.

While Traditional Values Coalition is a lobbying organization, its sister organization, Traditional Values Coalition Education & Legal Institute, is a foundation dedicated to educating and supporting churches in their efforts to restore America’s cultural heritage and traces the development of Biblical concepts pertaining to the formation of the United States and our Constitution.

Rev. Sheldon earned a B.S. in History from Michigan State University in 1957 and a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1960.  From the time of his ordination, he pastored churches for more than 25 years.  Today, at the request of member churches, he travels throughout America as a guest preacher on a regular basis.

He is a recognizable advocate speaking nationally in defense of the family. He has appeared as a guest commentator on Fox News, including Neil Cavuto, Hannity & Colmes, and the O’Reilly Factor;  CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, Nightline, and has also been featured in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, as well as on numerous national radio talk shows.

  • The New York Times has called him a “tireless crusader.”
  • “A strong voice of the traditional values that have been the foundation of America’s greatness is essential if we are to have good government policy. We need to have these values expressed and no organization does that better in Congress than Traditional Values Coalition”
                      – John Ashcroft, Former United States Attorney General

Born in Washington, D.C. in 1934, Rev. Sheldon resides in Anaheim, California.  He has been married for fifty two years to his wife, Beverly.  They have four children and ten grandchildren.
