Tea Party vs. IRS (05/18/12)

Tea Party organizations are calling out the IRS for coordinated attacks against the groups. The IRS has allegedly hindered the issuance of their tax-exempt status by creating unprecedented stipulations and making obtaining the status virtually impossible – or elongated in time. These coordinated efforts by the IRS were an apparent effort to slow down or thwart the application process.

In November, the Grassroots Action Alert reported that Tea Party groups were being conspicuously audited and unfairly charged for access to public facilities. As we now know, that was just one of many orchestrated leftist attacks designed to silence the Tea Party or render the movement ineffective.

Taking on the IRS is a daunting task, but now, as evidence of the assaults mounted, the Tea Party has come out “guns blazing” with a lawsuit and the launch of the Liberty Defense Foundation. ...Read

Political Word Games by Thomas Sowell  (05/07/12)

But how unprecedented would it actually be if the Supreme Court declared a law unconstitutional if it was passed by "a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress"?

The Supreme Court has been doing precisely that for 209 years!

Nor is it likely that Barack Obama has never heard of it. He has a degree from the Harvard law school and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago law school. In what must be one of the most famous Supreme Court cases in history -- Marbury v. Madison in 1803 -- Chief Justice John Marshall established the principle that the Supreme Court can declare acts of Congress null and void if these acts violate the Constitution.

They have been doing so for more than two centuries. It is the foundation of American constitutional law. There is no way that Barack Obama has never heard of it or really believes it to be "unprecedented" after two centuries of countless precedents.  ...Read

Big Labor Tramples Employee Rights by Newt Gingrich  (05/03/12)

Big Labor asserts that workers have rights to a workweek capped at 40 hours, a certain amount of paid vacation, and unsustainable pension programs. Rights, in fact, to lots of things--but not to leave the union or to stop funding their political activities. The Employee Rights Act, introduced last year by Sen. Orrin Hatch and Rep. Tim Scott, seeks to change that.

We all know the feeling of quiet resentment upon opening a paycheck, only to find that a quarter of what we've earned has been hijacked by a federal government everyone knows is extravagantly wasteful. But, however much of our income we may suspect is going to finance public employees' "planning" excursions to Las Vegas, at least we know that much of our money does go to important purposes.

Some Americans, though, find in each paycheck a void more unpleasant than tax withholding. For those workers whose jobs require them to be members of a union, they are likely to find that their unions have deducted money, as well, much of it used for political activities--even without their consent. ...Read

Irony—Police Shut-down Event Promoting U.S. Constitution.  Thomas More Law Center Files Lawsuit against Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI); Allegan Officials (04/30/12)

ANN ARBOR, MI – In the middle of an event to extol the virtues of the U.S. Constitution and “American Laws For American Courts,” the audience learned first-hand how easy it is to lose their freedom of Speech and Assembly.

Amid shouts of “What about free speech?” from the audience, the Allegan Police Department ordered the event shut-down.   School officials notified police that they had received a letter complaining about the event from Dawud Walid, Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI).   The letter asked the school to disallow the event despite an existing contract.  CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism funding trial in U. S. history, U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation.

As a result, the Thomas More Law Center (TMLC), a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, announced today that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR- MI), its Executive Director, the City of Allegan, the Allegan Police Department and the School District were named as defendants in a thirty-four page civil rights lawsuit filed in the Federal District Court for the Western District of Michigan, this morning. The claims included constitutional and contract violations. [Click here for copy of federal complaint]

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Law Center commented, “It’s amazing how much clout CAIR has with the political establishment of both parties in Lansing and throughout Michigan and the nation.    ...Read

Blacks File Class Action Racial Discrimination Suit Against Obama & Democrats (Posted 09/15/11)

Press Release: The Frederick Douglas Foundation

Seattle, WA. On September 11, 2011, blacks from the West Coast and the East Coast joined together and signed one of the most comprehensive legal briefs ever prepared on racial discrimination, then filed their brief today, September 12th, at 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time in US District Court in Seattle (Case No. C11 - 1503). The plaintiffs, who refer to the defendants as “Father of Racism,” allege that as an organization, the Democratic Party has consistently refused to apologize for the role they played in slavery and Jim Crow laws and for other subsequent racist practices from 1792 to 2011. Rev. Wayne Perryman, a former Democrat himself and the lead plaintiff in this class action lawsuit, said he was inspired to file this action after seeing the recent movie The Help. The movie takes place in the region that was exclusively controlled by Democrats for more than 150 years (the South). Mrs. Frances P. Rice, the Chair of the National Black Republican Association is also a plaintiff in the lawsuit. Mrs. Rice is a resident of Sarasota, Florida and has lived in the the South most of her life. ...Read

American Muslim speak out against the enforcement of shari'ah law in America (Posted 09/10/11)

Islamic Coalition announces support for Michigan legislation that will bar state courts from enforcing 'foreign law' above U.S. and state constitution.

Washington, DC (September 7, 2011) - A coalition of diverse American Muslim leaders has announced support for a proposed bill in the Michigan State Assembly, HB 4769, that is intended to bar Michigan courts from enforcing any foreign law, if doing so violates any rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and/or the state of Michigan's constitution.

Like many Americans, members of the American Islamic Leadership Coalition (AILC) have been observing the efforts of a growing number of state legislatures, which are seeking to address the incompatibility of various shari'ah court systems around the world with the principles and foundations of our Constitutional republic and its laws. As American Muslims, we believe that the law should treat people of all faiths equally, while protecting Muslims and non-Muslims alike from extremist attempts to use the legal instrument of shari'ah (also known as Islamic jurisprudence, or fiqh) to incubate, within the West, a highly politicized and dangerous understanding of Islam that is generally known as "Islamism," or "radical Islam."    ...Read

Geert Wilders: The Threat of Europeanization and the Need to Defend the Nation-State (Posted 09/06/11)
Speech of Geert Wilders in Berlin 9/3/2011

Thank you for inviting me to Berlin. It is an honor to be here in this beautiful city of Berlin. When I was here last year I emphasized how important Germany is for all of us. We all benefit from a healthy, democratic, self-confident Germany.

Much has happened since my last visit. In the Netherlands we were able to achieve many amazing things. We have successfully started to roll back the process of Islamization in the Netherlands.

We have done so in a peaceful way and through the democratic process. Recently, a deranged narcissistic psychopath from Norway committed a horrible crime. In cold blood he murdered nearly eighty innocent fellow citizens. The assassin pretended to be a concerned European. He said that he had committed his atrocity because “It is meaningless to participate in the democratic process.”  ...Read

Who are the Real Gay Bigots and Bullies? (Posted 08/26/11)

George Orwell said, “In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” When you tell the truth about homosexuality today, you can be sure that the central tools of deceit—name-calling and bullying—will be unleashed.

I recently was having a respectful conversation with a homosexual activist, but after I made a point he couldn’t answer he called me a “bigot.”

I asked, “What’s your definition of bigotry?”

He said, “Fear and intolerance.”

I said, “The definition of bigotry is not ‘fear and intolerance.’ It’s making a judgment without knowing the facts. I have written a book about the problems with same-sex marriage and the destructive medical consequences of homosexual behavior. So my convictions on those issues are based in fact not ‘bigotry.’ With all due respect, if anyone is engaged in bigotry it is you for judging my position as wrong without even knowing why I hold it.”    ...Read

Catch-22 of Sovereign Debt (Posted 08/24/11)
Washington just added another $2.4 trillion to an already exploding debt of $14 trillion. The accumulated obligations of the U.S. now exceed 100% of America’s Gross Domestic Product. We’ve reached that point at which we are trapped in an economic catch-22.

Over the last 150 years or so, the average interest rate paid on cost of capital has been 4%. But these days, interest rates on the federal debt run just 1.25%. That’s mostly due to a lack of demand by private companies for borrowing and the fact that the Fed is pumping money into the bond markets to keep interest rates down.    ...Read more
The State of World Finances (Posted 06/08/11)
Today we are here to celebrate and honor the legacy of President Ronald Wilson Reagan. And in this effort, we find in our times a great debate about the size and role of government that is very similar to President Reagan's time.

The federal budget, its deficits, and the growing national debt are being questioned with intensity as the reality of the repercussions and consequences, generated by ongoing deficits, lead to an ever larger, insidious and threatening debt which impacts our every day lives. These deficits and the resulting debt are unsustainable.    ...Read

Franklin Graham: World Christians in Grave Danger (Posted 06/08/11)

“The Muslim Brotherhood is very strong and active here in our country,” Graham tells Newsmax. “We have these people advising our military and State Department. We’ve brought in Muslims to tell us how to make policy toward Muslim countries...    ...Read
U.S. Congressman Says The Obama Administration Materially Supporting Terrorists (Posted 05/27/11)
(John Guandolo) Last Friday, May 20th, U.S. Congressman Louie Gohmert of the First District of Texas indicated the current Administration appears to be complicit in supporting the designated terrorist organization Hamas. Thus far, there has been nearly no media coverage on the Congressman’s comments, which, one would think, would have a significant impact because of the implications of such an accusation.

The comments came during an interview on the nationally syndicated radio program, “The Sean Hannity Show,” and were in response to reports of the attendance of Mohammed Magid at President Obama’s speech on Thursday ...    ...Read
Auto News - 10 Minute Video - The Yale King Story - Government Abuse of General Motors Takeover (04/26/11)
(Be sure to watch this newly edited, shorter video)
Yale King relates his story of losing his GM and Chrysler dealership during government intervention in General Motors. Contrary to portrayal in the media, the dealerships that were shut down did not demonstrate poor performance. 789 of the approximately 790 dealers who were targeted to lose their dealerships supported the Republican party. This calls in to question the motives of those who ran this government intervention since car dealerships in general are not a liability to car manufacturers,...    ...Read/Watch
“Economic Warfare: Risks and Responses” by financial analyst Kevin D. Freeman (04/26/11)
The unclassified 2009 report “Economic Warfare: Risks and Responses” by financial analyst Kevin D. Freeman, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times, states that “a three-phased attack was planned and is in the process against the United States economy.”

While economic analysts and a final report from the federal government’s Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission blame the crash on such economic factors as high-risk mortgage lending practices and poor federal regulation and supervision, the Pentagon contractor adds a new element: “outside forces,” a factor the commission did not examine.    ...Read

Remembering 'Shifty' Powers (04/26/11)
One of the "Band of Brothers" soldiers died on June 17, 2009.     We're hearing a lot today about big splashy memorial services.     I want a nationwide memorial service for Darrell "Shifty" Powers.

Shifty volunteered for the airborne in WWII and served with Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 101st Airborne Infantry. If you've seen Band of Brothers on HBO or the History Channel, you know Shifty. His character appears in all 10 episodes, and Shifty himself is interviewed in several of them.    ...Read
More Than 90 Organizations Sign Letter Opposing Repeal of Law Regarding Homosexuality in the Military (12/15/10)

Washington, DC – Ninety-four organizations have joined together to sign a letter to members of the U.S. House and Senate opposing the repeal of the law that prohibits open homosexuality in the military. Today the U.S. Senate and House are simultaneously considering separate bills to repeal Section 654, Title 10, U.S.C. (1993), which is usually mislabeled by the subsequent Executive policy known as “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT).

The ninety-four organizations represent more than 40 million people across the nation. The letter , which is being sent to every member of the U.S. House and Senate, states that an attempt to repeal the law that prohibits open homosexuality in the military during the lame duck session is illegitimate and untimely. Three of the four top commanding officers testified before Congress that such a repeal should not be undertaken when the country is at war.

The letter states: “We are engaged in a war on many fronts. Our troops are in harm’s way in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere. This is no time to experiment with social engineering of the;    Read
Israel's Netanyahu keeping mum about Obama's virtual arms embargo (07/05/10)
Israel's government has kept its silence during a year-long ban on weaopns sales imposed by the United States at the same time the administration has approved $10 billion in weapons sales to Arab states, a report said.

The Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs reported that the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sought to conceal a virtual arms embargo by the administration of President Barack Obama, Middle East Newsline reported. The institute said the Israeli government was also refusing to protest massive U.S. weapons projects for Arab rivals in the Middle East, which has eroded Israel's military superiority over its neighbors.    Read
Kagan Takes Lead Against Patriotic Students at Harvard (05/10/10)
The nation's largest conservative youth outreach organization, Young America's Foundation, says Elena Kagan trampled on students' rights as dean of Harvard Law School.

Kagan treated patriotic students like second class citizens when she banned them from meeting with military recruiters in the career office.

It is unclear whether she encouraged or required students to go off campus to meet with military recruiters.  According to the New York Times, Harvard allowed on campus recruiting with the assistance of the Harvard Law Students Veterans Association (HLSVA).  However, according to a letter posted on the HLSVA website from February 18, 2005, the HLSVA recruiters "will be strongly encouraged to arrange for an off-campus location to conduct interviews."    Read
