Evidence mounts that the Jobs Report is grossly inflated by a Census Bureau that can’t count. After “Maria,” a census worker who did not want her last name revealed, exposed how she had been hired, laid off, and hired again five times in an interview with Fox news anchor Neil Cavuto, other census workers have begun to surface claiming the same experience. Because these new hires had not worked long enough to be able to file for unemployment after each layoff, the only seemingly reasonable explanation given for why the Census Bureau would do this is to inflate the new hire numbers for the jobs report. This leads to some of the most sobering conclusions about how accurate the jobs report now is, the true state of the economy, as well as how deceitful the government has become.
The U.S. economy must produce about 400,000 new jobs each month just to break even with the average number of jobs lost each month. It was declared that about 480,000 new jobs were created in May, which was touted by the Administration as proof the economy was moving in the right direction. However, it was quickly found out that about 420,000 of the new jobs created were temporary jobs being added by the Census Bureau to complete the 2010 census. This means that the true number of real jobs created in May was only about 60,000, a stunning net loss of over 300,000 jobs. It was estimated that only 30-40,000 new jobs were created in the private sector. This is actually less than one job for every city and town in America!
That is why the Stock Market reacted so negatively to this jobs report that the Administration was fawning over. The U.S. economy is actually bleeding real jobs at an alarming rate. This is coming at the time of year when we actually need to create more jobs than normal to keep up because of graduates entering the job market. Obviously the Administration wants the jobs numbers to look as good as possible through the upcoming elections, but even with all of the methods they seem intent on employing to try to do this they are not just looking bad—they are looking scary.
Now what about Maria? Wasn’t the Census Bureau about counting? What kind of counting are they doing? Maria stated that she was hired by the Census Bureau, trained for about 36 hours, was allowed to do actual work for about 6 hours, and then laid off. Then she was rehired, retrained, worked a few hours, and laid off again. She said this happened five times, and she brought proof for three of them. After Maria spoke out others around the country started claiming the same experience. Not only is the obvious attempt at deception by our government very alarming, but this is another example of why it costs the government many times more to do a job than it should. These are our tax dollars that are being wasted. This is why the census that already has a budget of 13 billion dollars will likely also need a bailout to finish its job.
The politicizing and corrupting of the census is itself ominous as it will be used to determine congressional seats and districts, as well as how much Federal programs and money will be given to them. With the Census Bureau acting this way how can we trust any of their conclusions? Not only does this seem to be a brazen attempt to inflate the new jobs numbers, if this were done by any company in the private sector it would result in SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) charges that would land its leaders in prison for a long time. The Director of the Census Bureau did deny that this kind of jockeying of the hiring was being done, but Maria basically retorted that he was lying. Is a Double Dip Recession Inevitable? As noted above, remove the Census Bureau new hires, inflated or not, and our economy only produced about 60,000 jobs last month. This means we could have actually had a net loss of 300,000+ jobs. There are some encouraging signs in the economy, such as the number of new car purchases. Even so, virtually everyone, including The Obama Administration, claims that there can be no recovery without jobs being created, so basically it is all about jobs. To date we have thrown nearly two trillion dollars at bailouts that were supposed to save jobs, and stimulus that was supposed to create them, but it seems we may actually be losing them at the fastest rate yet. Why?
Over 70% of all new jobs created in America are by small business, defined as having 25 or fewer employees. Not one cent in the stimulus package was for small business, but rather the opposite—laws, taxes and increased government intrusion seemed especially designed to kill small business has been coming at a breathtaking rate from the Obama Administration. That is why most of the jobs being created are government jobs, which add nothing to the GDP, but only add to the deficits, and ultimately the tax burden we will all have to carry.
It is true that economic progress is dependent to a large degree on faith, which causes business to step out and invest, and people to both invest and buy. However, when a company builds faith in it by cooking the books it always ultimately collapses, and far more people end up getting hurt. Now our government is cooking the books. Prosperity built on hype and delusion is not true prosperity and it will ultimately collapse. It is time we faced the truth, and not only does a double dip recession seem inevitable, if we don’t change the direction we’re now going the result could be much worse than a recession.
Truth or Consequences? This was once the title of a popular game show, but now it is a very real question for the Obama Administration to ask. There is too much knowledge available to the American people for the Administration to keep trying to deceive us. Recent election results are just more proof that the only hope the Obama Administration has of not suffering the worst mid-term election defeat maybe ever, much less having any hope of re-election, is to start telling us the truth. Next it will have to change its course from its extreme Leftist agenda and swing back toward the middle where the overwhelming majority of Americans are.
Even so, the deceit of the government is about much more than just elections. It is about the crime of our government purposely trying to deceive the American people. If it is a crime for a citizen to lie to the government why is it not a crime when the government lies to the American people?
There is a good reason why the SEC imposes such severe penalties on companies who cook their books to make their reports seem better than their actual performance—the American people are investing their hard earned money, their retirement accounts, and possibly life savings based on these reports. Much of the world has also invested in America because of the soundness of our economy, and the belief that our company and government economic reports were accurate. The belief in that integrity has been severely damaged in recent years by cases like Enron, but just when some faith in the corporate reports was returning because of the severe criminal penalties, the integrity of our Federal Government is now being challenged repeatedly with such scandals as the wildly inflated numbers on the White House website www.Recovery.gov.
This is not only eroding the confidence of Americans in their government, but is also eroding the world’s confidence in America. The immediate and the long-term consequences of this will not be good. Not only has investment dollars slowed in coming to America, more and more Americans are moving their investments, and their businesses, elsewhere.
Both the government and the media are so out of touch they do not understand such huge grassroots movements like The Tea Party, but obviously more Americans are starting to understand that their government is both out of touch and out of control. We again seem to be at a time in history when only responsible citizens who demand truth, integrity, and common sense leadership, can rein back in a government that has gone awry.
Election results indicate increasing resolve among the American people to take their government back. The biggest winner of the primary results last Tuesday was neither the Democratic or Republican Parties, but the Tea Party. As Nikki Haley, a winner in the South Carolina Republican Primary for Governor, stated, “We’ve been settling for a Republican House, or a Republican Senate, but what we need is a conservative House and a conservative Senate”…. She lamented how many Republicans had learned the conservative talking points, but not conservative action. That may sum up the message of The Tea Party movement, which has drawn huge numbers from both the Republican and Democratic Parties. The American people are starting to evaluate the actions and not just the words of our elected officials.
Incumbents are becoming an endangered species in American politics. If the trend continues the November elections could actually reverse the radical course change of the Obama Administration, and maybe even recover much of the drift away from our basic principles over the last two decades. Hope is rising.
Unemployed veteran facing felony obscenity charges wins Democratic Primary for U.S. Senate. In the most bazaar election result maybe ever, an unemployed veteran, Alvin Greene, won the South Carolina Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. Greene did not campaign, or even give an interview. He did not even have a website, and neither raised or spent any money on his campaign, but won convincingly by double digits over his Democratic Party rival Vic Rawl, a Democratic legislator.
Neither Rawl nor the media had even checked out who Greene was because he was considered such a long shot. Soon after he won the election it was discovered that he faced felony obscenity charges because of an encounter with a female coed last fall. Asked to step down by the Democratic Party, Greene vowed to stay in and run against popular GOP Senator Jim DeMint.
Who is Vetting Candidates? Greene’s victory is obviously embarrassing to the Democratic Party, but the whole nation did not seem to really know who Barak Obama was, or his real agenda, until after he was elected President—the most powerful office in the world. The media used to do the vetting, and do it well, but it seems that only Republican Party Candidates are scrutinized with any depth by the overwhelmingly liberal media. This is obviously one reason why trust in the media has already fallen to an all time low.
So what is the answer? The independent minded American people are taking matters into their own hands. With the Internet and more research tools at their disposal than ever before, the American people are learning to do their own research. This has already been so effective that President Obama actually tried to dissuade Americans from using all of the technology available to us in recent speeches to graduating college seniors. Even the media considered this remarkable for someone who used modern communications technology so successfully in his campaign. Now, what was used to ignite the Obama campaign may be turning against him. More and more Americans of all ages seem to have determined that if they cannot trust the media for accurate information they will not be passive, but will get their own. This trend seems to be greatly favoring new independent movements, and challenging both the institutional Democratic and Republican Parties.
